The National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive was held on May 13, 2023. This was the first in-person NALC Food Drive since COVID-19 came to our islands. Mahalo to the letter carriers who collected donations and deliver them to the stations.
Thanks to HSTA-R, HGEA, and ILWU retirees who assisted with the flyer packing to raise awareness to donate. These donations contribute to food distributions for striking members, rent and utility assistance for affiliate members who are at risk of becoming homeless, learning sessions, and professional development focusing on timely topics and large-scale community service events.
Also, mahalo to the unions and their members who came to help sort the food donations. The total contribution this year were reported to be nearly 450,000 pounds of food.
